Bonding is a way to fix small chips or fill in gum-line notches in teeth. We use tooth colored composite resin to reshape the tooth to a natural look. Bonding can also be used to change the shape or size of a tooth, and may be an alternative to porcelain.
Procedure
The bonding procedure is usually completed in one visit and may or may not require numbing of the teeth. The first step is to remove the broken portion of the tooth. The tooth is then etched with a liquid or gel and a bonding agent is applied. This will allow the composite resin to be bonded to the prepared tooth. The resin is then trimmed and polished, leaving you with a beautifully sculpted, natural-looking restoration.
